The studio

Atelier Voss was founded in 2014 in a former shipyard canteen on Refshaleøen. Two photographers, one assistant, and a north-facing window we planned the whole building around.
We take on roughly twenty commissions a year, which is fewer than we could. The arithmetic is deliberate: it is the only way to give a shoot the hours it actually needs.

How it runs
04 / 05- 01
Conversation
An hour, no brief required. We work out what the pictures are actually for before anyone talks about budgets.
- 02
Direction
A written treatment with references, casting, locations and a shot list. Nothing goes on a call sheet until it's agreed.
- 03
The shoot
One to five days. Small crew, natural light, and enough time to wait for the frame rather than force it.
- 04
Delivery
Graded masters in three weeks, web derivatives in one. Full usage rights, archived with us for ten years.

05 / 05Every enquiry is read by one of us, usually the same day. If we are not the right studio for it we will say so, and point you at someone who is.
